Public Organization Youth House – a non-governmental, non-profit and non–religious organization was registered in the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan in September 14, 2001 (Certificate #798).
Youth House Program Goal:
Youth House NGO aims to provide vulnerable children and youth free access to positive self-development and self-realization opportunities through improved access to extra-curricular, educational and vocational activities and psychosocial counseling.
To provide Youth House beneficiaries free access to extra-curricular, educational and vocational activities to foster their intellectual and social development;
To provide Youth House beneficiaries psychological counseling services and to assist them with the process of coping with various psychological traumas;
To promote ethnic and social integration among children and youth by providing a non-threatening environment for vulnerable children and youth where they can gather to learn and play;
To work on ensuring the Youth House NGO sustainability through development of the long-term Strategic Plan, strengthening its human and institutional capacities.
The Youth House – NGO, originally was created and transitioned to local entity by the international organization United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) with a grant supported by the USAID (1999-2001). The Youth House – NGO was registered in the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan as a local NGO in September 2001
Youth House resources:
Youth House NGO has permanent trainer staffs who have received training on interactive and participatory methods.
Youth House has equipped classrooms for conducting trainings and educational classes.
Youth House library includes books for language classes, modules and training programs for Civic education class, audio and video materials.
Within “Training for practical child psychologists” project Youth House created a Psychological Resource Center, which has about 200 modern books on psychology, modules and materials developed by Youth House specialists. Students from Psychological Departments of the Tajikistan Universities have their practice in the Resource Center.
